Investigation on the Performance of Pipe Roof Method Adjacent to the Underground Construction

In this paper, the behaviour of pipe roof method with different roofs disposition schemes including gate system and L-shaped is discussed in terms ground settlement reduction condition underground space construction adjacent to existing structure by using numerical simulation method. Considering sequences parallel tunnels rectangular cross sections, appropriate parameters response characteristics corresponding methods are evaluated surface displacement. The results indicated that impacts from new buildings can be reduced However, theoretical performance highly dependent on spacing between two structures. Generally, more effective case distance (D) less than or equal 1/2 width box culvert (R) under a constructed nearby building.
